Attracting investments, promoting the country brand and enhancing exporters' ability are the main actions seen in a plan worked out by the Moldovan Investment and Export Promotion Organisation (MIEPO) for 2015. The plan was considered at a meeting of the council for implementation of the export promotion programme, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Stephane Bride on 4 March.
Bride, in his tenure of council's head, stressed the need to pro-actively and innovatively approach the promotion of country's image. In his opinion, the actions provided for in the plan will help exporters promote themselves on foreign markets and will boost foreign investments.
"The business environment from Moldova has potential to increase, generate international brands, boost production and launch new industries. Turning competitive and export-oriented, our entrepreneurs will become co-authors of transforming our country's image on the foreign markets", he noted.
Among the actions scheduled for 2015, there are: working out of a guide for organisation of promotion events by diplomatic missions, visits by foreign investors to Moldova, carrying out programmes on training managers of national companies, local producers' participation in diverse exhibitions, study visits, organisation of business missions in more countries.
MIEPO set the action plan as a result of sectoral consultations with business associations and institutions involved in the promotion of export, investments and country's image, such as: Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tourism Agency, National Association for Receptive Tourism, in cooperation with development partners, which contributed with needed expertise to prioritizing the key sectors.
