The long- and medium-term policy framework on the development of micro-, small and medium-size enterprises (SME) in the Republic of Moldova is provided by the Small and Medium Enterprise Sector Development Strategy for 2012-2020 and Action Plan of this Strategy for 2012-2014. This document meets the need to shift from the consumption-based economic development model to a new paradigm oriented toward exports, investments and innovations, as well as the political commitment of European integration and the global economic tendencies.
